| New fear for flood-hit Thais: Green mambas Posted: 02 Nov 2011 10:16 PM PDT  A couple of weeks ago we were worried about escaped crocodiles. Now flood-hit Nonthaburi, on the outskirts of Bangkok, is dealing with another breed of deadly fugitives -- 15 green mambas. Officials announced Wednesday that 15 highly venomous African snakes -- two adults and 13 young -- escaped from a flooded building in Nonthaburi's Pak Kret district on Tuesday night. The adults are reportedly two meters long, while the young ones measure one meter in length.    |

| Posted: 02 Nov 2011 03:00 PM PDT  世上最後一名忍者並不難找。 他就住在近東京的千葉縣野田市，在火車路軌下、一間自己開設的「武神館」道場教授弟子。 道場內氣氛沉著神秘，牆上掛著一列肖像、點著蠟燭以及滿架不可思議的鋒利武器﹣﹣彷如在兵器庫裡的藝廊裡的聖地。 週日下午，初見良昭大師就在這房間的中心教授好學的弟子。 忍術不一定充滿秘密，但一定滿是苦頭。 而今天就是我的第一課。 初見大師即席向一名廿多歲年輕壯健的澳洲學生出招，並透過翻譯說道：「做得正確的話，可使他的臉頰斷裂。」 熟能「致命」初見大師年底便80歲了，可是修練逾半世紀的他，仍自稱是位學生。 資歷深厚的他是逾10萬名「武神館武道體術」追隨者的師父和精神領袖。 學徒大多為外國人，專程到野田市朝聖，跟初見大師學習。
我的練習對手是 Dirk Rummel，一名習武多年的德國警察，他形容來到道場學習就是一次「武者修行」。 「我覺得認識武神館的根源十分重要。」Rummel 邊說著，邊客氣地把我打倒在地上。    |

The mission to promote Korean cuisine around the world has been taken on with enthusiasm by everyone from First Lady Kim Yoon-ok to the goofy cast of the TV show "Infinite Challenge." The problem? Seriously backward tactics. Take, for example, a recent survey by the Seoul city government that asked non-Koreans their favorite local dish.    |
