| Gallery: 2012 Taipei Pet Show, where it's better to be dog than human Posted: 17 Jul 2012 01:48 AM PDT It was the annual Taipei Pet Show on July 13-16 where hundred of dogs, cats and other less conventional pets led their humans around the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. In between the pet fashion show, the pet "Olympics" and the pet talent contest, pet lovers shopped for food and accessories amongst the 600 booths. Many coveted the NTD 70,000 (about US$2,300) bejeweled dog leash encrusted with Swarovski Crystal, sapphires and diamonds, while others checked out the NTD 598,000 (about $20,000) milk bath treadmill. It's a glass case that allows the pet to exercise while soaking in milky bath water. Pet bridal wear and pet nail art were also a big hit. Last year, more than 150,000 people visited the four-day show, many bringing along their furry beloveds. read more     |

Guilin Merryland Theme Park (桂林乐满地主题乐园), 62 kilometers northeast of Guilin city in southern China, has launched a summer campaign that encourages female visitors to "showcase feminine beauty." Wear less, pay lessDubbed "Love Miniskirt" (夏日乐爱短裙), the two-month campaign entitles female visitors to a half-price park admission if they sport skirts shorter than 38 centimeters. Xi'an Xianyang Airport, the gateway for travelers to see the Terracotta Warriors, is the first to take a stab at the market. More on CNN: Airports' tiniest hotels: Sleeping in a box The three-terminal air hub recently put up 20 wooden cabins in Terminal 3 and in the connecting area to Terminal 2. According to Chinese media, this is the first airport in mainland China to set up such accommodation.
