| Futuristic 'Sleepbox' debuts in Moscow Posted: 16 Aug 2011 12:15 AM PDT  We figured tourist lodgings in expensive cities couldn't get more "basic" than capsule hotels. We figured wrong. A Moscow company is now marketing "Sleepboxes" -- freestanding, mobile boxes with beds inside -- for travelers stranded overnight, or those in need of a quick snooze. The Sleepboxes are meant to be installed in airports -- even at departure lounges -- and rented for 30 minutes to several hours at a time. A Sleepbox is currently installed at the Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow.      |

After a life of alcohol, AC/DC is finally giving some back, producing a line of their own wines. It remains to be seen whether they'll be a hit. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have teamed up with Warburn Estate, a large, family-owned Riverina winery in southern New South Wales that's sourcing grapes from Barossa and Coonawarra regions in South Australia for the AC/DC wine. Could you say there'll be a "Whole Lotta Rosé" Or is it time to "Sink the Pink?"    |
| Microneedle beauty too good to be true Posted: 15 Aug 2011 11:59 PM PDT  The latest beauty craze sweeping Hong Kong is the Microneedle Therapy System, which involves massaging the face with a needle-studded roller. The Hong Kong Consumer Council has issued a warning to users of the device, stating there is no scientific evidence to prove its effectiveness and warning that the device is potentially lethal.    |

| Tsunami wreckage becomes tourist draw Posted: 15 Aug 2011 08:01 PM PDT As summer holidays go, not many Tokyoites likely had a trip to Japan's northeast to see the aftermath of the March tsunami high on their to-do lists. Yet it seems many are visiting the region for a powerful reminder of what happened in springtime. Tourism chiefs say the current obon vacation period in Japan has prompted residents of Kanto and elsewhere outside the tsunami zone to travel to places such as Kamaishi in Iwate Prefecture.    |

The once-derided rice wine preferred by farmers has graduated from being a low-rent buzz to a full-fledged star of the after-hours scene, especially in Seoul. But while makgeolli is now appreciated by almost everyone, it's often still served in humble back alleys or tented pojangmachas. | Can Bollywood save Archie Comics? Posted: 15 Aug 2011 02:58 PM PDT  This year, Archie, Betty, Veronica and friends leave their mythical suburbia of Riverdale -- originally based on the Bronx's upscale Riverdale neighborhood -- to go to India, a country in which the comic book's sunny, 1950s outlook still sells. For the fictional characters, the change of scenery may represent adventure, of a sort (more on that in a moment). For the comic book's publisher, the move is a canny sales strategy. From 2007-2009, overall sales of "Archie," the American comic book's flagship title, dropped by 40 percent. In 2010, the publishers introduced the series' first gay character, Kevin Keller, in an attempt to boost sales by modernizing story themes.    |
