| Twitter to the rescue during #mumbaiblasts Posted: 14 Jul 2011 01:52 AM PDT  Let's backtrack to Wednesday evening when the Twitter hashtag #mumbaiblasts started trending in the wake of the terrorist bomb attacks. Three tweets carried cell phone numbers offering pick-ups to anyone stranded at the blast sites in Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House. As soon as the government brought the word "terror" into play -- due to the coordinated nature of the attacks and the type of explosives used -- cellphone numbers of police control rooms popped up on the #mumbaiblasts feed.      |
