This month CNNGo cruises the canals of Amsterdam.
Olympic field hockey player Floris Evers shares his perfect Saturday with a stroll through the Noodermarkt, a giant slice of Winkel's handmade apple pie and a picnic in scenic Vondelpark.
We explore an artistic side of the city with gallery owners Diana Stigter, David Van Doesburg and Lilian Driessen, who show us the best photography museum in Amsterdam.
Then it's time to eat.
Mark Schiefelbein from Dutchgrub.com orders us Dutch pancakes, French fries and beer -- the complete Amsterdam street food combo.
Finally, Instragrammer Phil Yisrael shows us his favorite picture perfect spots, including a horseback ride through the Amsterdam Bos.

Here are five of the places we visited:
Noordermarkt
Amsterdam's picnic purveyors.
Every Saturday morning local vegetables, artisan food and crafts fill one of the squares in the Jordaan neighborhood.
It's the perfect place to stock up on snacks for a picnic in Vondelpark.
Winkel, a restaurant on the edge of the market, sells some of the best apple pies in the city.
On Mondays the area also hosts a flea market.
Noordermarkt, 1015 MV Amsterdam, open Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Pols Potten
No more flatpack furniture.
From ceramic rabbits to tulip vases, this design store has everything whimsical and practical to help with home decoration.

Chocolatl
A chocophile's delight.
This store is pure chocolate heaven, featuring artisan chocolate from all over the world.
The friendly staff here delight in helping customers pick the perfect chocolate for and even host tastings.
They also serve excellent drinking chocolate.

Foam
An alternative look at photography.
For those who want to venture beyond Amsterdam's Museum Square, there's the Foam photography museum.
Located in an old canal house, Foam approaches the art of photography from all angles.

Pathe Tuschinski Cinema
Music and movies in perfect harmony.
It's no secret Amsterdam has its share of gloomy days, so to escape the rain, a movie is always a good bet.
The Pathe Tuschinski Cinema plays mostly mainstream films, but with a classic cinema experience.
Movie features in the opulent main theater are often introduced by live music played on a restored cinema Wurlitzer organ from the 1940s.
Pathe Tuschinski Cinema, Reguliersbreestraat 26-34, 1017 CN Amsterdam; +31 900 1458
Brouwerij 'T Ij
An iconic brewery, an unmissable beer.
With one of the only windmills actually located in Amsterdam, this brewery is unmissable.
Its Belgian-style beer, Brouwerij 'T Ij, remains a favorite among locals and tourists.
Customers can start with a "flight" of five beers to decide which ones they want to go back for.
It's possible to get there by boat via a small dock out back.
