iReport: Your images of Kaohsiung, Taiwan Posted: 04 Feb 2014 02:00 PM PST Laid-back, friendly, creative -- iReporters share what makes Taiwan's second biggest city so special Taiwan's second biggest city, Kaohsiung has over the years morphed from a tiny trading center into a major hub in the southern part of the island. Much of Taiwan's manufacturing, political and economic business passes through the region, which is also characterized by its shipbuilding -- Kaohsiung's port is one of the largest in the world. In tandem with CNNGo Kahohsiung, which aired in January, we asked readers to share their favorite images of Kaohsiung in this iReport assignment. Some iReporters said they adore Kaohsiung's easygoing vibe. Others pointed to its cultural diversity. The gallery above features some of our favorite submissions, submitted by iReporters Lilian Huang, Cheng-En Chang, Joseph T. Rodolico, Aristotle Bulaclac and Muid Latif. Past episodes of CNNGo, including the visit to Kaohsiung, are available on the official CNNGo page. |
